Hot Mikado

Hot Mikado fuses an eclectic mix of rock, blues and swing, with big numbers such as ‘Three Little Maids’, ‘I’ve Got A Little List’ and ‘A Wandering Minstrel I’. Burstingwith toe-tapping lindy-hop, jazz and tap dance numbers, this show is hot! Nanki-Poo, a trumpet player, arrives in the town of Titipu to woo the beautiful Yum-Yum, only to learn that she is betrothed to Ko-Ko, the tailor turned Lord High Executioner. Ko-Ko is under strict instructions from the Mikado to preserve his authority by executing one person within the next month. The lovesick Nanki-Poo agrees to be executed provided he can spend a month as Yum-Yum’s husband. Surprisingly, everyone agrees to this scheme but the plan goes awry when the Mikado arrives along with Katisha, a woman who herself has designs on Nanki-Poo. With four lovers, a powerful ruler and execution imminent, much is at stake and much to be settled.
